Skateboarding is a sport based entirely on risks and rewards. You don’t get better without falling, and you fall a lot. So we introduced “Vans Skateview”. An app to help skaters express themselves, re-imagine their environment, and hopefully fall a little bit less.
Whether you’re finding new places to skate, pushing your creativity, or developing a unique style, SkateView provides all the tools to live Off The Wall.
Videos are the backbone for skaters to not only learn, but also get noticed and jump-start careers.
Film, edit, stylize and seamlessly share to your social channels.
Once you’ve got your run, upload and tag your video under the correct location pin. Viewers can add or replay previous videos archived under each pin. Locations can also be specified as permanent or impermanent.
Anything you scan will get translated into exact measurements which are used to recommend some new tricks in your run.
Save any tricks you want to learn into your trick deck. The app then breaks down each one step-by-step and shows you the correct foot placements.
Vans helps everyone see the world like a skater by placing stickers modeled after our measuring tool along commonly pinned areas.
Digital floor mats will be placed in parks that will simulate the trick deck section of the SkateView app. Skaters can step onto the mat and safely practice new tricks. Then using AR you can scan your skate park and we’ll recommend the best tricks for your run.
An interactive digital board installed on display tables mimics the app’s geotagged map. Guests can select and watch videos displayed on a screen built from skateboards.
